Our story

Frank Bonacci opened his 600 sq ft shoe repair shop in Caste Village in Pittsburgh, PA in 1972. Over time his business was growing and he brought his two sons along for the ride. Anthony and Vincent Bonacci took over when Frank decided it was time to retire. Since his sons have taken over, the business grew from a shoe repair shop to a retail store offering the highest quality work boots. When the boys were still repairing shoes, and trying to run a retail store, they found that offering Everyday Low Prices was the easiest way to deal with customers and still manage to complete all of their repair work. The retail store was successful enough to open up a second location in Robinson Towne Centre, just minutes away from Pittsburgh International Airport, and the inventory outgrew the Caste Village store which lead to moving to the new 20,000 sq ft South Hills Location on Rt 51 in 2015.

In addition to carrying the largest amount of work inventory in the region, Frank's Shoes has recently opened Frank's Western for every Pittsburgher's Western-Wear needs. The demand for Western-Wear in Pittsburgh has been growing due to the popular genre of modern country music. Everyone in the area can agree on the prevalence of country music in our city- all you have to do is take a look at parking lots surrounding Heinz Field after a country concert. For the true cowboys, Frank’s Western extended the selection in the Frank’s Shoes Saloon at the South Hills Location. Here, you will find high-end exotic skin cowboy boots from brands like Dan Post, Justin, Nocona, and cowboy hats such as Stetson and Resistol.

Frank’s Shoes also carries Dress & Casual shoes from brands such as Johnston & Murphy and Clarks. You can find a genuine pair of wing-tips to dress up in to go along with your tuxedo, or a casual pair of moc-toes for everyday stomping around. Frank’s is even a New Balance Pro Care Dealer, and can find corrective shoes for your particular foot problems. We stock brands like New Balance and Brooks in our Walking & Running line.

Although the business has come a long way since the tiny shoe repair shop, Frank's Shoes still works with the same attitude of offering Everyday Low Prices in order to fulfill the needs of the everyday working man and woman!
